A new study finds that owning a dog may reduce risk of suffering heart attack or stroke, especially for those who live alone. The American Heart Association released a statement last year attesting to this fact, and a recent Swedish study found that dog ownership can be particularly beneficial for those who live alone, who are at higher risk. This may be due to dog owners partaking in more exercise by walking their dogs, or due to the fact that owning a dog can reduce the risk of depression. Read more here.
